What the world stands on? (the speech of Serafim Pankratov)
When everything collapsed with the beginning of the war, it turned out that everything rests on sacrificial people. The country and the nation are preserved by those, who risk their lives to protect the others, who risk themselves to maintain the life.
Police officers, rescuers – these professions always have been associated with risk. But even completely non-heroic and even «vernacular» professions suddenly began to bear the stamp of courage and sacrifice. Utilities managers, electricians, drivers, shop assistants... Yes, even shop assistants. When Akhtyrka was still under daily shelling, I told the cashier at ATB (a net of popular shops): «Who would have thought that cashiers are a heroic profession?»
Volunteers have become the circulatory system of ourcountry. The country is sustained by many people who without any doubts are ready to share, to take from oneself and give to one's neighbor, to shelter, to risk oneself, to give one's life.
And perhaps it is precisely what we are experiencing now that brings us closer than ever to the understanding that the well-being of the whole world rests on sacrifice and sacrificial people. And without them and without sacrifice, the world would become terrible and unbearable. Can you imagine a world in which everybody has selfish idea a kind of “my hut on the edge, I don`t care”? A world where everyone lives only in their own interests and is ready to share something only when it is beneficial for them? Would we like to live in such a world? Who would be happy in it?

НА ЧОМУ ТРИМАЄТЬСЯ СВІТ (цитуючи Архімандрита Серафім Панкратов)
Коли з початком війни все розвалилося, виявилося, що все тримається на жертовних людях. Країна і народ зберігаються тими, хто ризикує своїм життям для захисту інших, життя міст і сіл підтримується тими, хто ризикує собою кожного дня.
Поліцейські, рятувальники – їхні професії і раніше були пов'язані з ризиком. Але прийшла війна і зовсім, так би мовити, негероїчні, звичайні професії раптом стали нести на собі позначку мужності та жертовності. Комунальники, електрики, водії, продавці магазинів... Так, навіть продавці магазинів. Коли Охтирка була ще під щоденними обстрілами, я в «АТБ» сказав дівчині на кассі: «Хто раніше подумав би, що касири – героїчна професія».
Кровоносною системою країни стали волонтери. Країна тримається жертвою багатьох людей які будь якої миті напоготові поділитися, відібрати у себе і віддати ближньому, дати притулок, ризикувати собою, віддавати життя. І може бути саме те, що ми зараз переживаємо, як ніколи близько підводить нас до розуміння, що і благополуччя всього світу стоїть на жертві та жертовних людях.
І без них і без жертовності світ став би страшним і нестерпним. Ви можете уявити собі світ, у якому кожен «моя хата з краю», кожен живе лише своїми інтересами і готовий чимось ділитися тільки тоді, коли це йому вигідно? Чи захотіли б ми жити в такому світі? Хто був би в ньому щасливий?
